Music Day is a noncompetitive, evaluative event for music students of all levels. Students play two selections in front of a judge and receive helpful, specific comments on their performance. FALL RECITAL, Sun., Nov. 18, 3 p.m., location to be announced The fall and spring recitals are opportunities for students to share their musical accomplishments with a supportive audience of family and friends. Performance motivates students to practice their very best and provides inspiration as they hear each other play. |
PAJAMA CONCERT, Fri., Feb. 1, 7:30 p.m., Carlos Museum, Emory University, GA. (Free admission)
The entire studio is invited to carpool together to hear live music in a casual setting. Last year’s concert included music for solo
piano, string quartet, and an 11-year-old cellist!
FEDERATION FESTIVAL , Sat., Mar. 9, Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, Peachtree City, GA
This event is very similar to Music Day except that students earn points each year that lead to a gold cup after three to four
years. One of the two required pieces must be written by an American composer.
MTNA THEORY TEST, Sat., Mar. 9, Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, Peachtree City, GA
Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) designs this theory test in Levels 1 – 5 that covers chords, key signatures, rhythm,
etc. Over a period of months, students are carefully prepared to take the appropriate level, and those receiving a 90 or higher merit special recognition on the Georgia Music Teachers Association website.
SPRING RECITAL, Fri., Mar. 15, 7:00 p.m., North Fayette United Methodist Church, Fayetteville, GA
